Solarama.org
Fundraising that also benefits your supporters
At Solarama, we believe that businesses should put people & the planet before profits - hence the ‘.org’. To make a difference, we focus on building socially impactful partnerships with non-profits and community projects that generate solar synergy.

Solar synergy happens when we work with our non-profit (NP) partners to raise solar awareness and deliver cost (& carbon)-saving solar solutions to their supporters. In return, when a homeowner switches to solar, we donate $1,000 to that NP partner’s fundraising campaign PLUS 50% of our revenue from each project. In the spirit of building trust, we operate an open-book approach with our NP partners. That simply means that they can see what goes through our books - income and costs.
1. Help 1,000 households save $$$ and cut carbon emissions by going solar.
2. Help our non-profit partners raise $1M for their good causes.
3. Train & empower 100+ people / orgs to replicate our social impact model.
4. Treat every partner and householder with integrity, respect and kindness.

We partner with all types of non-profits, community organizations, and charitable projects to help them achieve their goals by contributing to their fundraising. We particularly love to partner with non-profits working in cleaning up & re-wilding the environment, but we’ll consider any project that betters a community. What cause is your non-profit fundraising for? Get in touch and let us know and we’ll see if we can help.
Solarama.org saves your supporters time and money with its vetted installers
In the US, Solarama.org benefits from an awesome partnership with Powur, a leading national solar company with a unique approach that really resonates with us.
For starters, Powur is a certified B Corporation. It’s also been the fastest growing solar company in the US for several years now - and for good reason!
Powur supports local and regional solar installers by helping them access cutting-edge solar equipment, batteries and financial products at highly competitive prices.

Here’s an overview of how we work with our non-profit partners:

Our Team has experience fundraising in various sectors including community energy, education, and mental health services which enables us to better understand your challenges. At this early stage, we have an informal virtual chat to see if we can help you reach your goals.

Having agreed on our goals and our communication strategy, we begin a joint campaign to communicate our solar fundraising proposal to your supporters. This will typically involve sending email messages to introduce Solarama.org and our new partnership. Those interested in participating can opt-in to a follow-up by phone call to schedule a virtual consultation. Or they may also have the option of joining an info webinar. We will never cold call your supporters or have anyone knock on their door unsolicited .
Solar consultation
Our virtual solar consultations with your supporters generally take place over two sessions. Solar education is the overarching goal: we want everyone to understand what it means to go solar and whether or not it makes sense for their home. For every NP supporter we consult with, we donate $25 to our NP partner. The first consultation is shorter: we explain who we are and how the process unfolds. Importantly, we also collect information on their property and their energy usage which we’ll use to design the most appropriate solar system to meet their needs.During the second consultation, we present your supporters with tailored solar proposals for their home. We only recommend going solar if it makes financial sense for them. We also take all of the necessary time to answer their questions so that they can make an informed decision - without any pressure.

If your supporters agree to go solar, contracts are signed and the installation process can begin. Our overarching goal is to save homeowners money on their electricity bills. If a property doesn’t meet this criteria, we make this clear, so your supporters can make a well-informed decision about going solar.
Funds are raised!
Once a solar proposal is accepted and we’ve completed a site survey of the home, we can finalise what our revenues will be for this project. We’ll let our NP partner know what our revenues are for this project and how much their 50% share will be. In addition, Powur will pay our NP partner $1,000 directly for being an ambassador. Our open-book policy ensures that our NP partners can see exactly who is being paid what.

“While working in the non-profit mental health sector, I noticed how great partnerships can really improve the delivery of critical services. This inspired me to get involved in solar energy again: partnerships could help me amplify the social benefits of helping people switch to solar.Searching for a solar partner led me to Powur, which promotes solar solutions with an impressive focus on people, their communities and service delivery. With this ethos, and direct access to the best local & regional installers, Powur is enabling Solarama.org to take root.”
