100% Profits for Impact

We use the sun to raise money for great causes.

At Solarama, we believe that businesses should put people & the planet before profits - hence the ‘.org’. To make a difference, we focus on building socially impactful partnerships with non-profits and community projects that generate solar synergy.

What is ‘solar synergy’?

Solar synergy happens when we work with our non-profit partners to deliver cost (& carbon)-saving solar solutions to their supporters and, in return, we contribute ALL (yes, 100%) of our profits to our partners’ fundraising campaign. In the spirit of building trust, we operate an open-book approach with our partners. That simply means that they can see what goes through our books - income, costs and, of course, profits.

Our 3-Year Mission

1. Help 1,000 households save $$$ and cut carbon emissions by going solar.

2. Help our non-profit partners raise $1M for their good causes.

3. Treat every partner and householder with integrity, respect and kindness.

4. Empower 100+ people / orgs to replicate our social impact model.

We particularly love to partner with non-profits working in mental health, cleaning up & re-wilding the environment, and building community renewable energy projects. What cause is your non-profit fundraising for? As long as you’re bettering your community, we’d like to hear from you so get in touch!

Solarama.org saves your supporters time and money with its vetted installers

In the US, Solarama.org benefits from great partnerships with Apricot solar, Freedom Forever and SunRun, leading national solar companies. We’ve also partnered with a large vetted network of local, high-quality installers. These awesome partnerships enable our customers to access some of the leading solar finance companies, which means that we’re able to meet everyone’s solar requirements at incredibly competitive prices.

What does a partnership with us look like in practice?

Here’s an overview of how we work with our non-profit partners:

Fundraising is hard work

Our Team has experience fundraising in various sectors including community energy, education, and mental health services which enables us to better understand your challenges. At this early stage, we have an informal virtual chat to see if we can help you reach your goals.

Partnership Agreement

If there is sufficient synergy between our goals we establish a partnership agreement including a supporter-based communication strategy that will govern how we work together to achieve your fundraising goals.

Contacting your supporters

Having agreed on our goals and our communication strategy, we begin a joint campaign to communicate our solar fundraising proposal to your supporters. This will typically involve sending email messages to introduce Solarama.org and our new partnership. Those interested in participating can opt-in to a follow-up by phone call to schedule a virtual consultation. Or they may also have the option of joining an info webinar. We will never cold call your supporters or have anyone knock on their door unsolicited .

Solar consultation

Our virtual solar consultations with your supporters take place over two sessions. During the first one, we explain the benefits of going solar and collect information on their property and their energy usage. Then, we work with all our installation partners to design the most appropriate solar systems to meet their needs. During the second virtual meet-up, we present your supporters with costed solar proposals that reflect current available federal, state and municipal support.

Supporters make a decision

If your supporters agree to go solar, contracts are signed and the installation process can begin. Our overarching goal is to save homeowners money on their electricity bills. If a property doesn’t meet this criteria, we make this clear, so your supporters can make a well-informed decision about going solar.

Funds are raised!

When a proposal is accepted, we know straight away what our revenues will be for this project. As soon as Solarama.org is paid (by the selected solar installation partner), we will deduct our expenses and gift 100% of our profits to your organisation. Our open-book policy ensures that you can see exactly who is being paid what.

“After decades working in the energy sector, from global energy companies to community-owned solar projects, I started working and volunteering for mental health charities - something I care deeply about. It was during this time that I noticed how important partnerships were to the delivery of so many critical services. When I was diagnosed with ADHD two years ago, I felt the need to change direction. I started looking for partnerships that would enable me to combine my different passions into one business to help people and the planet. It was never going to be a straightforward journey! My big breakthrough came with the discovery of Apricot Solar, which promotes solar solutions with an impressive focus on people, their communities and service delivery. With this ethos, and direct access to top national installers, Apricot enabled me to create Solarama.org.”
